Empirical Research
Race, Ethnicity, and Specialized Business Accreditation
By Bonnie Fox Garrity, Veronika Lengyel
Volume 7 - Issue 1
Feb 18, 2009 - 3:08:11 PM

In this article the authors investigated the relationship between specialized business accreditation status and student race/ethnicity. They found that business students were more diverse than students in other majors. Black business majors were more highly represented in IACBE and ACBSP accredited programs, while Hispanic business majors were more highly represented in programs with no specialized business accreditation. White business majors were more highly represented in AACSB accredited programs. The potential economic returns related to the selectivity of the college were addressed.
