The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of an instructional design and to improve upon the process of student learning by looking for correct and reliable questions and answers appropriate for the final term exams. The preparation of suitable questions for the final exams is only possible with a good knowledge and understanding of the relevant topics of the discipline. Consequently, a learning process based on the preparation of potentially exam questions could guarantee higher and wider levels of assimilation and understanding than other kind of study approaches, which are usually intended only to facilitate the passing exams. 327 students of two different disciplines directly related to Educational Psychology were involved in the study. Those students that regularly worked out questions, passed the exams, whereas the students that did not pass were mainly those that had not prepared questions, or in some cases, they had been preparing these questions very poorly.
