This article explores the relationship between student
behaviors and perceptions in relation to the career counseling process and
overall levels of decidedness. Students were surveyed regarding aspects of
their self awareness, career market knowledge, and other critical elements of
career decidedness and asked to identify how decided they were regarding career
options. The results demonstrated the validity of the traditional
conceptualization of the career decision making process and highlighted the
relationship between decidedness and perceived motivation, confidence, and
self-efficacy.
