Non-tenure track faculty comprise an increasing percentage of full time faculty employed by American universities, often serving in most of the same roles as tenure track faculty, including teaching, research and service. Simultaneously, they rarely share the same reward system as their tenure-track peers. A procedure for promotion and advancement of non-tenure track faculty is described in this paper. The process is intended to reward the value and long term institutional commitment of this important faculty group.
