Identifying and Analyzing Occupational Stress Factors among Faculty of Autonomous Colleges in Madhya Pradesh

Occupational Stress is one of the burning issues that are observed everywhere. Occupational stress is also increasing in teaching of higher education system due to highly dynamic and globally competitive work environment. Very few studies are available about the faculty stress in India. The present paper focuses on identifying the factors of stress or stressors and the level of occupational stress on the faculty due to these factors. The study was done on the faculty of autonomous colleges of Madhya Pradesh state of India. The data were received from 400 faculty members through questionnaires. The data gathered from the said respondents have been tabulated. An index known as ‘Agreeability index’ is used to know the faculty’s response towards these factors. The ranking has been done and the levels of stress have been identified.
