The effect of Training on Employees Performance in Star Hotels of Kolkata District

Training is one of the significant tools of Human Resource function which has a tremendous role on the development of the most valued human resource asset of any leading organization. Training bridge the gap between the required and the actual skill, knowledge and attitude of the employees working in an organization. Through a systematic and strategically planned training methodology would suffice the very need of efficiency, productivity and the attitudinal change in the employees. In the era of globalization and fast moving technology, market demands, and various perceptions of the customers are rightly satisfied and addressed by providing training to the employees of the organisation which in turn become capable to face the challenges of the ever changing technology, market and ultimately satisfies the guest by providing the best services to their valued customers. The basic objective of this study is to find out whether there is any significant impact of training on the performance of the employees of the star hotel of Kolkata district in the hospitality industry. Various types of training program which is being conducted in the hotel to hone the skill, knowledge and the attitudinal changes in their staffs from the frontline to the top level executive are Guest management, Complaint handling procedures, Product Knowledge, Safety and Security procedures of employees, Guest and the property, Fire Safety, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Team work and Leadership and many more.
