Decision Making Style of the Secondary School Headmasters of Lakhimpur District: An Exploratory study

The main purpose of the study was to investigate the decision making style of the secondary school headmasters of Lakhimpur district with reference to the type of institution, experience and age. The methodology of the study was descriptive survey design. Total 30 samples were selected for conducting the study and stratified random sampling technique was applied for selecting the samples. In this study the investigator used ‘Decision Making Style Scale’ developed by Noorjehan N. Ganihar (2005) to collect data. Collected data were analyzed with the help of Percentage Analysis, Mean, Standard Deviation, Graphical Representation and Test of Significance. The findings of the study revealed that the secondary school headmasters of Lakhimpur district prefer heuristic style of decision making. The study further revealed that the type of institution, experience and age has an impact on the decision making style of the secondary school headmasters of Lakhimpur district.
