The concept of quality in higher education has been one of the essential issues in terms of providing qualified individuals to the country's economy. Quality has now become a necessity in all fields and sector. Education and total quality management concept have been identified with each other. This paper attempts to apply Quality management practices in higher education and highlights the importance of these practices. This study aimed to describe the best quality practices in higher education institutions. The purpose of this paper is to explore the quality management practices in educational institutions (HEIs) in India from NAAC perspective. The NAAC has developed and published a series of best practices of various institutions as per seven criteria of assessment and accreditation. Best practices reflect the credibility and cheerful life of institutions. These practices are able to instil the scientific approach to issues or problems of society. Best practices are the agents of change for a particular educational institution and society as well. The study enables higher education institutions, faculty members, students, academic advisers, and other stakeholders to gain further insights from pertinent quality management practices in higher education institutions. So, quality becomes imperative in a best practice, it should impart quality in its outcome and must be beneficial for stakeholders and for those it is carried out. The rest of the paper is structured as follows. First, this Section presents total quality management practices in higher education organizations. Section second describes and summarizes the best quality practices for higher education institutions. The third Section ends with conclusions.
