The Problems Of Translation Of Idiomatic Expressions In Literary Texts

The article offers the ways of interpreting English idiomatic expressions in the works of fiction books’ writers. When translating any piece of literal work from English into a target language, there are always some misunderstandings in phraseological expressions’ meanings. English language is rich in such expressions and they require accurateness in translation. It is one of the problematic sphere of the “Theory of translation” science. As they cannot be translated literally, (they lose their meaning) there are often some difficulties in transforming their original sense. On the other hand, these kind of phraseological expressions make the language more colorful and emotional. This article will look through the idioms definition, their types, etymology and ways of translating them into a target language.
