Education plays a vital role in deciding the Credibility of an individual as well as on Nation. Any country that achieves greater heights in literacy rate tends to excel in all sorts of commercial and economical parameters. In India after the post British colonization era, education has penetrated deep in to the remote locations around the country. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has taken numerous steps in taking education to all citizens with much flexibility. In lieu with this the distance education comes in to picture for many students. Correspondence and distance education provides a step up platform for many students to continue their educational journey rather than putting an end card. This study was undertaken with several parameters to understand the preferences of undergraduate students for taking up postgraduate courses either in full time or through distance mode. The findings of the study will help us to understand the perception of UG students regarding their educational progress and circumstances that decides their progression towards selection of higher studies. The ongoing expansion of education system in India has penetrated to most regions. But the barriers that are blocking the students from taking up their enrolment are still thinkable.
